Hi all hope your well. I am awaiting a 2020 TE Edition. Ordered since Feb but given the current climate, not sure when it will turn up? With Japan heading for deeper recession and a rise of virus numbers, god knows. My dealer is completely closed, even the lines are for key workers only. Waiting game tick tock!

I religiously come from the Subaru world. I still retain my Impreza. Having sold the daily M5 F10 after 6 years from new. Only logical sense, for the next power up was a GTR.

I have some questions for your experienced people! I dont intend on a huge tune, as I have others cars to play with too. So I was thinking litchfield 4.25, with a full Akra exhaust, super stock intercooler and maybe some other tweeks. So my questions:

What is the best sounding exhaust system out there? Not necessarily the loudest, but best sounding?
With any full system, are you guys heat wrapping or ceramic coating the downpipes? Ive always done ceramic on other cars.
If I wanted to retain the factory titanium system, who or where does titanium downpipes and y pipe to fit factory system?
Litchfields road suspension setup they sell, is it really worth changing from the factory nismo tuned setup?
I like my cars aggressively low, maybe stick with KW clubsports coilovers?
If its not too late for my build slot, I will be upgrading to ceramic brakes.
Best place for outdoor car covers?

I can only assume the TE is a great piece of kit out of the factory naturally? Open to other ideas. Im not looking to build this into any mega drag strip power.

May have other questions, maybe will remember later.

Thanks all.

I am a big lover of the Akra pipes, there beautiful quality and fitment but now very expensive.
If money is no object then go for it.
My choice would be tomei 102mm titanium, they look nice and are substantially cheaper.
Litchfield full suspension kit gets good reviews but then does the dsc controller at much more sensible money, there’s a group buy possibly going ahead.
I think ceramic coating the exhaust is a good option, especially on the downpipes, the downpipes I prefer are the ones with cast ends, I don’t think titanium here is required but each to there own.
These are just my preferences.

Ive fitted loads of Whifbitz 102 both stainless and Titanium in silenced and unsilenced, great value for money and good quality

I am running MY17 Nismo suspension with Intrax lowering springs. Really enjoy the setup. Would not(!) install any system that renoves to built in dampening control. It's so nice to have.
As for exhaust system I am a huge fan of mild2wild setups, simply because I sometimes prefer leisure cruising and strongly dislike noicy cockpit when not racing. Oh, and btw. Stock exhaust has to go. The worst sounding stock sports car in the world. Sounds like a semi electric car (Read: nothing at all...).

Russ Fellows exhausts are very, very good. He can make them to your specific sound requirements and they are extremely very good value for money plus he’s a top bloke to deal with.

For car covers you can’t beat Specialised Covers from Shipley, I’ve got three Stormshields outdoor covers for different cars, all fit perfectly and are strong and hard wearing.

Thanks guys for the info.

Akra exhausts are really a great piece. I have previously had a Tomei on my Subaru, but it was insanely loud! Probably stick with Akra and have the down pipes ceramic coated.

I think I may stick with the nismo suspension. I was thinking lowering springs, but arent the nismo springs and struts complementary to each other? If I was to change them to lowering springs, wont it affect the setup, spring rate negativley?

What are the best lowering springs? Eibach seem popular. I did have h&r on my M5.

Will check out the car covers (y)

No idea about suspension effects. Previous owner had all work done at a shop. Granted I bet the ride gets a bit stiffer.
H&R are solid.
I'm happy with Intrax and know a lot of Nordschleife (Nürburgring) fanatics give them praise.

For car covers I am happy with Softgarage.

Intrax are off the hook, we had a set custom made for a ferrari dino race car and fitted at intrax who then 'borrowed' Spa for a day to set them up.

I would not recommend Tomei titanium - it is ridiculously loud. I have 4" SBD system and it is just perfect: low restriction for the gases and very quiet in cruising, no drone. But when you press the pedal it sings like Horns of Jericho :)

Another vote for Russ. He made mine about 3 or 4 years ago now and it still looks like new and sounds fantastic.

I’d listened to some tomei ones on You tube and they did’nt sound too bad.
Two friends of mine have it. Extremely loud, one even put noise cancelling mats inside the car and wrapped the exhaust, but it never helped :)
