having recently installed splitfire coils on my moderately modified rb26 - 2860r's, 600cc inj, forgies, microtech ecu blah blah. im just wondering if upgrading the coils would make any difference to the gap you run. if so what would be the ideal gap?

i believe im running 0.76mm at the moment

im just under the impression that the splitfire coils would put out a stronger spark, so a bigger gap and therefore a bigger spark would be ok

I were told they'd give a more stable spark during high temperatures and wotnot - good investment esp. with a high temp engine - some chap said they ended up costing him about 240quid all in from nengun so might be worth giving them a shot?

Factory gap is 1.1mm (I believe), and it's normal to have to narrow that a bit as you modify (.8 seems to be the general concensus). I'm sure you could open that up a bit with the splitfires as alot of people seem to rave about them....
