Volvo 440! - 1st car

Blimey Gus, when I was your age (and not that long ago) ;) My first car after passing my test was a beaten up ole mini, which I had to put a blanket over the engine in the winter and jump start every mornin' Those were the days....

Sorry I don't work for a 'wheel' company. I work for a company that sell solutions...and aren't very good at it either..oops! :D

Good luck!

Gus are you eventually thinking about getting a Skyline?
If so what model would be your first?

I have allready worked out, that for my first car I am getting a R32 GTS-t.
I am getting an apprenticeship at my local Nissan Dealer next September. This would give me about £5,000 for the year, which I would use for the R32:)

Volvo 440

...Quite a big first car, mine was a lovely grey citroen AX GT :)

What sort of wheels are you after, I think some T5 wheels would look a treat if they fitted and can be had secondhand for about £250/set

McLarenFan,

You've just echo'd the sentiments of every Volvo driver I've ever known, and the problem is that they drive like feckin'madmen cos they know no fear.

Other car

My other car is a V70, even I notice the difference in my attitude when I drive the Volvo compared to the R33... In the Skyline its quick enought to get you out of most things... in the Volvo I just go and things get out of the way... almost..

Ahh, my first car ..................

ALpha Sud, got my first bank loan for 1500quid, picked up this beutiful black Sud, drove home with a big smile, parked on my drive thinking look at those kids admiring my Italian sports car. Proceed to reverse back up the drive so the kids could hear its engin purr. Looked over my left shoulder with me shades on and proceeded to pull the FKG driver door and Wing off on the garden gate.

Within weeks I could hear it rusting at night and eventually brushed it away one morning, well I sold it for £25 in order to get it of the drive cos me mother said it was an eye sore.

By the way still paying that loan of today just increased it dramatically over the years.

As for the wheels question I aint got a clue!!!

R34-GTT, You do realize that £5000 a year will barely keep you in tyres/brakes/fuel if you really use it. Without even going into the cost of insurance (IF they'll insure you) and things breaking...

Sorry to put a downer on it but just thought Id give you my realworld experience, even if it may be negative!

No problem Vennunth, but you don't know what I am going to do with it;)
I'm just going to leave it in the garage for a year or so. As long as I have it there, I am not bothered:)

My friend tried to do a J-Turn at Mc Donalds (On max power night) and he hit a lampost, and the light from the top of the post fell off and hit the sunroof and smashed it!!! I was laughing so much!

ahhh yes... when you drive a tank on the road, is there a need to fear anything else. BTW my sister drives the volvo now, sadly it's not the 240 but the 740 and she almost brought our house down when she hit one of the foundation pole while trying to park the car. i cant believe how can she hit it, for almost 9 years we lived in the house nobody, i repeat nobody have ever hit that pole. not even my cousin 13 year old who dont have a drivers licence are that stupid enough to hit a pole with diameter of 1 feet. *sheeshhhh* womens.... just a story i want to shere with you guys... not relevant to the topic whatsoever....
