Hello guys,
the car is a R34 GTR with 2.8 Tomei engine, 280 valves, OS88 gearbox, Motec M600 ECU and MOtec CDI ingnition and running close to 1000bhp. The car was running perfectly for about 2 years, but now has not been driven for almost a year. Now we took the car to a dyno and the cars runs great at 1.4 bar boost all the way to 9000 rpm. When we set the boost to the high setting at 2 bar, the car shuts down completely every time at around 7k rpm just when it hits full boost. The Motec ECU gives low voltage fault. The voltmeter reads 14v all the time at 1.4 bar. At 2 bars of boost it reads also 14v. I hooked a multimeter and it reads 14v all the way to 7k rpm, when it goes crazy and reads low voltage, like 8v or less , just when the car hits 2 bars of boost on the high boost setting. What can cause this voltage drop at 2 bars, but not at 1.4 bars of boost, it is very weird ? We tried with another battery, hooked second battery, charger, but the same, every time the car shuts down at 7k rpm when it touches 2 bars of boost. Again, the car runs perfectly at the low boost setting.
