Hi guys, (especially ‘32ers !)

I have been discussing the possibility of importing
Tamiya plastic model kits of the GT-R32 with the
agents in the UK. As some of you already know, this particular
model is not available in the UK.

They are prepared to import it, but the minimum
quantity must be one carton containing 36 kits, and
payment must be in advance. The delivery time is not
known but could be upto 5 months. Price will be around £14 each.
plus p+p.

For those who are not familiar with Tamiya, I can say that
the detailing is excellent.

I can possibly get additional sets of race wheels
which are from a different kit, for those who want shiny
alloys at a slight extra cost. (see pic)

Let’s say there will be 34 kits available
on a ‘first come’ basis, but I want to be sure
that there are sufficient numbers spoken for.

So,....who wants one?

First In!!

Hi John,

Please put my name down please, if you can get them in plain white that would be superb!!!;)
As with the wheels anything that resembles the Nismo GT1 would be even better!!!

Cheers

Hi Stu..

Ok you're on the list

You paint your bodywork and other bits wharever colour you like as the kits are unpainted. Just use ordinary car spray. I've even done tinted windows on some.

As for the wheels, the ones in the kit are like standard 16in jobs, and bigger wheels would probably be nearer to what most people have. I can choose something from another skyline kit like the pic shown but can only choose one. This would be a seperate order for a bulk set of wheels (hopefully), but they won't let me do a "pic-n-mix"
I'm suggesting this one for the moment as they are the equivalent of 18's I think, with slicks on.

Dino...this is great news and thanks for offering to help out.

I think we'll probably take you up on that...but lets see how many we need first. Perhaps you could get us the extra shiny wheels too.

Maybe we can discuss details by email nearer the time.
Mine is [email protected]

Come on guys how many do we need?

Consider it done David.

I'll let this thread go for a while and see how many more we need before putting the order in.

These are home build plastic kits, not die-cast? What scale are they? I DEFINITELY want one (as long as they're less than £20). Does anyone know where to get good replicas of the R33 and R34 road cars? Especially and R33 diecast 1:16 road car.

Thanks guys

Hi Rob,

Yes its a build-it-yourself, 1/24th size. Very clear instructions.
Each part has to be painted/sprayed before assembly so it will keep you occupied for a while. Hope that dosn't put you off.

I'll post a final price later when we know the facts. The other Tamiya models are around £13/14 in the UK but this will have to be shipped from Japan.

Me and Yen dont exactly get on. :D That price means nothing to me!

Anyway, John, that is exactly what I was after. I fancied something to keep my occupied until the summer comes :D

DCD, when you make the order, could you possible ship 1 R33 and R34 ROAD car kits in with it please, or direct me to a shop in the UK that sells them? I tried Hannants but they soaid that they couldnt get hold of any.

John, PM me when u r placing the order and I will send you a cheque.

Thnaks,

Rob

Dino,
Thanks, thats the one!

2000 yen is £10.93 at todays rate. Then there is shipping from Japan.

Hey Ross, if you see this, it's "Grunty"

To Vennuth (Rob), Hobby Co. are the agents for Tamiya, their number is 01525 385798. They should tell you where your nearest stockist is. The R33 and R34 are normally available from shops in the UK.

I've seen the picture ! You are right , it is Grunty !
Add one to your list for me.
I also noted the comment on the Toy store in Carmarthen
which showed the Tamiya model and code number.
I know the man who owned the shop many moons ago!
I'll maybe give him a call.
