Ron at RK tuning & Everyone at Abbey :)

my car is now back on the road after the kerb incident, which left me needing a new wheel & wishbone.

Ron stayed on at work for almost an hour whilst I spooned around getting lost in central london trying to find him! so I could pick up a set of wheels :) and very nice they are too... 17" is a much better size for a Skyline!!

as with most things to do with my car, I had a nightmare getting nuts though to hold the things on to the car, but finally got some from Demon tweeks, a week later and one incorrect set later (right size on invoice, wrong size in box :rolleys: ) they turn up!

and thanks to Abbey for putting up with my constant telephone calls while waiting for the slow plane from Japan to bring my wishbone over :)

and heres the result... one dirty wet car with nice shiny wheels... and one very happy matt!!

Matt,

Looks way better dude .. you're old wheels were just way too small :p :D

One slight hit at reality ... I hope you checked the hub for any signs of damage, and also that you gave the wheel a damn good wobble to check for any bearing damage ... Furthermore, you'll need to check your tracking pretty soon...

Cheers,

Dan

I didnt dismantle the hub, too cold and wet :), but no visible signs of damage from the outside, and no odd noises when driving along, so fingers crossed, but no high speed shenangans for a bit...
car was tracked and all wheels balanced on saturday :) and they wernt too far out, which was nice! car is rock solid when going in a straight line, cornered it pretty hard a good few times into second avenue (plenty of run-off :) ) and all the nuts are still tight and the wheel has no signs of movement...

just drove to chelmsford and back today, tentatively worked my way up to 100 mph, and the wheels all stayed on and are all in the same place... :D

Matt,

Good stuff, I'm assuming you have all the correct tracking specs to match it too, or did you put your life in your hands at one of the high-street wheel/tyre specialists? :D

Hi-Q in clacton were the only ones that could fit me in that late on sat afternoon, so I went in armed with the print-out from Rons site, and after some deliberating, the guys opinion was... 'not quite sure about all these, but the overall thing looks like they have to be prety much parallel, with just a touch of toe-in" :)
they only charged a tenner for the tracking, so cant complain!! :) ill have it doen properly after christmas, or if i feel or notice anything odd with the tyres
