Ah well it is time to bid a fond fair-well to my daily hack for the last 4 years. I have just sold my beloved Subaru Legacy Outback H6 in favour of something a little more exciting.
The Scoob has never missed a beat during my ownership and it has definitely been the best all-round car I have ever owned (well so far).

The ride replacing it is a Mercedes AMG C43 Estate, which, if you don't already know, is an old-school V-8 4.3 litre with 306BHP and a mountain of torque just about anywhere on the tacho. Relentless is probably the best way to describe the power delivery and the car feels like it was hewn from a solid lump of metal.:D
This is my first Merc and I don't really know much about them - other than they probably cost a fortune to service etc. etc. Has anyone on here owned one of these cars or got any experiences of them?

Yeah I'm not a great fan of the image thing either but I'm not going to blame the car for that.
I will just have to work on reversing the perception...

I keep Thinking about an S class, either a 500 or a 320 CDI, depending,
but People keep telling me about maintainance issues, and having had the Lexus with is Fantastic Reliable and done 171 000 Miles it is still great, so I just dont know what to do,

Havnt had a C class AMG but owned an E55. Loved every minute of ownership they are very solid and reliable, if well looked after.
However some parts can be extremely expensive to repair and are not made any more (AMG suspension arms) and other just want more for being AMG (brake discs). But fingers crossed you will never have it come up
Servicing is not expensive just look around for your local specialist, and you will be pleasantly surprised
Hope you enjoy your ownership
