Hi All,

I intend to have a tracking system installed for my R34 soon.
Can anyone recommend which one to fit? Know of only two - Tracker & Trackstar.
Are there others available?

Thanks

TRACKERS

HELLO VINCENT,

I have recentlly had a tracker fitted & I over the moon with it!

It is called E-Guard.

I like it so much for it is very easy & convinient to use.It came first in Auto Express tests!
Even if you do not know your car has been stolen they will ring u & tell u!!How much better can it get?

Good Luck :)

Tracker

Mind you, my old car had active tracker install, and they still nicked it without a trace ... I guess they just removed the Tracker unit ...

Most installations on GTRs I've seen are in the same place!

The old Tracker system used GSM mobile phone technology and was Jamable, not sure if the curent Tracker system is still the same.

Whereas I think the RAC system is GPS based, and not jamable.

(If I'm wrong, sorry)

GPS based trackers

The thing is about GPS is that it is very easy to block the signal (not that I really need my Geodesy to work in my garage!)

Does that not mean, for example, that all a lowlife has to do is get the car under cover quickly to avoid detection...?

Tracker

Hi Vincent
We are in the final process of getting the test equipment from Tracker-network.
We are already approved as of this week but it will take 1 or 2 weeks to get the test equipment from their warehouse.
We already have 2 cars waiting for installs .
We are based in the Harrow area of West London
Hope this helps
Best regards

Hello Alan,

I've had the e-Guard Executive installed.
I'm happy with its operation but I'm not too hot on its position.I forgot to dis-arm it the first day I got it & they rung me within 10 mins to see if I was driving!Very impressive or wot?
Good luk with your your new equipment when it arrives for trackers.I will probaly come to see u about advice on car stereos, next month,or maybe we could meet at the next Grasshopper meet/peters e trakday?
Regards Paul

Track

Yes I know i should !
If it was on 2 wheels then i might just go ahead but my beloved car might see a track this year or maybe next still have not decided.
(Still have not got an oil cooler fitted yet either)
There's another reason
Still there is plenty of time though.
Might watch the first time to see how the pros do it (Track day that is)
Best regards:D

Just one more question on the tracker discussion. Does anyone have a view as to whether it is actually worth paying the (quite a bit) extra to have the gps facility of Tacker Horizon, or does Tracker Monitor do the job pretty much equally well? Seeing the comments about the jammability of gps systems makes me wonder whether it is worth it.
