Good day up Trax yesterday. No rain which was superb.

AbbeyMotorsport was the only company 'flying the flag' for Skylines with Ronnies 33 and my 34. Daz was on the stand with his GTI-R which made the whole thing look complete.

Saw a few 'regular' Skyline/GTI-R owners yesterday which was nice. Also LOADS of interest in the Skylines/GTI-R as you would imagine and to be quite honest the stand was full with people nearly all day.

What was refreshing was chatting with owners of other performance cars who are thinking of moving to a Skyline. Unlike another thread here re the Calibra's I was chatting for a long time with a 4X4 Calibra owner and his wife who were really nice people. They are going to get a Skyline and between us their was a mutual respect. Like everything their is a minority so let them stay in the minority without recognition.

All in all a top day and a big thanks to Warren and Shak for helping me out with the 2 Skylines. Oh and my dear wife for covering loads of miles over the weekend driving the 34. Now I've got to make it up to her. Damn.

Got to add my 2pence worth to this...

I thought the show was excellent. First time i've ever been to Trax - and i'll definately make the effort to go again.

I had the priviledge to be on the Abbey Motorsport stand along with Glens 34 and Rons 33....as Glen said, the stand was buzzing all day which was great to see. The number of times I heard "look at the size of that bloody turbo !!!" or "wicked, look, skylines !!!" as another rush of people came over was great ! All 3 cars drew plenty of interest - which was great.

It was also great to meet Warren and Shak for the first time - top blokes - and Warren your cozzie is awesome !!

I saw a few other skylines dotted around the place....i understand Mike Smiths r33 posted an impressive 0-60 time (3.57 second i believe) - looked and sounded superb.

I took LOADS of snaps from the day, so when i've put them up on my website, i'll let everyone know.

Top Day. Nice to meet daz, tony and mark and see glen again. shame warrens escort was hidden at the back, I am sure plenty of punters would have liked to look at that as well as the Nissans. Able to pick up some much needed parts from tony for my car and then try to get round all of the club stands (just too many to get to see in one day!?). Plenty of gtirs but not many skylines. Nice to see skylines on the track (steve riches and a silver r32 - who's the owner?) but best has to go to the blue impreza - into the penultimate bend in the complex boot the floor spinning all four wheels and still steering round the corner ok....round of applause from the crowd and a telling off from the officials. 0 to 60 interesting but 1/4 mile would have been better (over too quick).
Will be there next year, not sure about track as cars are very close together but as skyline GTR register with space for the cars? Do you have to pay for club space or is it free? At least will would all be on the infield in the same place (except for abbey stand, 200+ club etc.)

Hi all,
I had an interesting day finding the shortfalls of my car (not enough power) but a chat with Mark at Abbey soon gave me some good ideas. Shak, top bloke & friendly had me feeling at home dispite my reservations about only owning a GTS and after a chat with him I might just turn up for the Dyno day !
Glen would have loved to had talked with you 'bout your car (those wheels are truly sex) but you were 3 people deep when I saw you.
Dave didn't know you were there, I would have found you, the silver 32 was mine.
Still had a great day and will be back with more power next time.
p.s.
Santa I've been a good boy this year, Please bring me a GTR for Christmas.

Hi Garth

Sorry I missed you, not enough time at show and spent some time at Abbey stand (you can never learn enough from Tony and Mark).
When I saw your car on the track, I was wondering what it was as it looked like mine but the front end seemed different. Also I could not understand why it did not leave the Gtirs behind (same power I guess), which made me think that it was a GTS. Nice car. Bearing in mind I arrived in a Gtir and they are very quick (in my rating), I would not worry about it not being a GTR...it's a skyline!
Where did you say that you lived. I would not mind a meet and chat before winter arrives. I am short of time (long hours at work, mum in hospital) but will make the time. Mine will be coming off the road soon to get sorted once and for all (before the dyno day) but let us know your whereabouts and availability. Rob (quattro) said that he might visit me in September so maybe we could all meet up? I will contact Rob.

Sorry never got to chat with you mate. It's the first time I'd ever been on a stand at a show and even though I love chatting I was knackered by the end of the day and wished I'd had more time to speak with like minded people. Hopefully we've got a pub meet coming up soon so all those who have never met will. Mind you the Dyno Day is coming up soon so thats a great opportunity for us all.

Just remembered Guy I'll get that cheque for Ronnie off to you know. By the way Guy is their going to be hot drinks and food as per the 1st Dyno Day. Not the mini one.

Ouch!!

Well I watched the 911 crash, saw the whole thing in my rear view and side mirror, he was trying to take me on the main straight then suddenly, across the track and into the wall.
We were knocking on so I'd say he must have hit with some speed !!!
Another 12 or so feet forward would have seen us both off, I had paid my insurance but would rather not have to make claim if you know what I mean.

not a lot at the mo, just a cat back system,hks powerflow and trust profec B controller,Kyb super special dampers & springs, Gtr alloys.
More to come but may be selling to buy a 32GTR.
