After considering many options for purchasing a skyline the thing that seems to arise again and again, and after rigorous hitting of the search button im still finding hard to find a little information on, is,

If you are to import a R33 GTR V-spec from japan , it does not have the additional coolers that the UK model had added to them.
Would it be something that as the person buying the car you should look to do immediatly? or is this something that can be done as and when, with other mods?
Sorry if this sounds a little stupid, just the way my brain works is Middlehurst for some reason saw them as something worth adding to the UK sold cars, so if your importing a car should you look to do these things as the first few modifications to your car?

Thanks for any help in advance all.

the reason you need the coolers is due to speed restirctions.
people are much less likely to reach high speed in Japan as it is so crowded so Nissan thoguht that 112 mph was fine and no coolers needed. mmmmm....

In the UK (not legally) or in fact if you went to Germany you need a cooler as the oil will get hot and if this is prolonged then it will harm the engine (damage to bearings and internals) And that is why middlehurst went through the exercise and the tuners do the same. Also on track days then no cooler and watch those temps rise.

You should be talking to a tuner really as they will guide you and can fit the Oil cooler for you at not huge costs.

you should also get the Jap chip changed as this is used to running 100 rom fuel and ours is not!!

Most of the cars in the UK will now have this mod so why are you not looking to buy one from the UK. All these hassles should be ironed out for you.
Check www.gtrowner.com and the guy that owns this site also sells VERY good cars.
