Firstly humble apologise that the old thread had to be removed. This had to be done to not only add some clarity to a very important change that needed to be made. But to make sure it was clear and the correct information shown up front and not dotted over an old existing thread by editing! The GTROC is still in need of new Regional Reps for 2014, but compared to the old thread there is one very important condition that had to be attached ...
All Official GTROC Regional Reps must be current and valid GTROC club members - no exceptions. Likewise if your membership lapses and is not removed then you will have to be removed from the role as well.
The reason for this is that if a non club member is running a GTROC event or meeting, then the clubs Public Liability Insurance is automatically INVALIDATED
So we still need to bolster the number of GTROC Regional Reps for 2014 and it still remains my responsibility as the clubs National Events Manager to try and fill these positions as well
Over the years we've had some absolute legends in these roles - from Hodgie, to IMS, to Dave Wilkins, to Japfreak and to some bloke called Speed Merchant ...
Joking aside this role does not take much of your time and you really do reap what you sew, especially if you come along to club meets and events anyway
Ideally you should possess one or some of the following qualities, though not all are required - just see our London Rep for that one ... :chuckle:
01. Be a current and valid GTROC Member.
02. Own or be an enthusiast of the Skyline, Stagea or R35 GTR.
03. Have some people skills!
04. Be able to ask for help if you require it and not press on alone!
05. Common sense and some ability to adapt.
06. Time management skills.
07. Live in or near reach of your area you want to rep!
Below is a list and maps of the areas that require Regional Reps. Some of these positions are covered but many are free or large enough to be divided up further to make them more manageable! The keen sighted amongst you will notice the red lines dividing these areas into numbers
01. SOUTH EAST REP
02. SOUTHERN REP
03. SOUTH WEST REP
04. EAST OF ENGLAND REP *
05. SOUTH CENTRAL REP *
06. MIDLANDS REP *
07. WALES REP *
08. NORTHERN REP *
09. SCOTTISH REP

So for example we currently have a NORTH EAST REP in area 08, but the rest of the region still needs representation to assist the current NE Rep. So below is a list of the areas that we require Reps for 2014 as well as those that have already stepped up with our thanks. If I missed anyone then PM me people

Once finalised in January or February I will be contacting all the Regional Reps to outline the clubs major events for 2014 that have already been booked, as well as our aim and vision for 2014. For those still pondering a basic outline would mean as a Regional Rep you need to hold at least three or four meets a year in your area - great examples are the NE Curry Meets or the GTROC London Meets at the Ace Cafe London - with the landowners permission as WE DO NOT DO CRUISES OR SUPERMARKET CAR PARKS :chuckle: You would also need to keep an eye out for any shows or events local to your region that you think the GTROC could have a stand at. There are other factors but we are keeping this simple. You will get help, assistance and backing especially if you haven't done this before. A few hours a week to spare is all it costs at most and that can attend your own meets and shows as you will be running them on the day :runaway:
If anyone has any further questions then please ask
