Hey

Just been wondering over the past few days.. what was it like to come from anything? to a skyline? What was the handling like? just how did it feel to stand there holding the keys to a skyline that was yours for the first time? could you sleep at night? :)
Whats it like driving everyday? do alot of people wanna race you or whats it like.. im curious :)

And you who has gone from r32 to r33/34 how was the handling different. better worse? more playstationlike?

and a little request, well a big one actually. Has someone got a video clip or can someone do a little video clip with the startup of r32 and just how it sounds and that.. Would be lovely :)

I had 1 month of sleepless nights, and I mean it!!!

I had to Wait for 2 weeks till I could pick up the GTS R33 and It dragged, then 1 week later, I had to wait another 2 weeks till I could pick up the R32 GTS4...... DID MY HEAD IN A LOT is all I can say. I'm not a patient person at the best of times.:D

I love my R32, and the wife loves the R33, so we lived happily ever after, until it came to tuning parts and BHP......;) :D

Si

PS Depends where you go regarding folk wanting to race, dont get too much of it, and most of the time, well not at first though I do Have to be Honest here, NOW I dont bother usually, costs too much in juice to keep racing shite cars!!

Hey :)

Yeah ive got _everything_ of the gtrcentral.com site :) amazing site.

Im currently saving up for one of them, they dont seem so expensive... (saying that because you cant even get a fair 106 gti for the same amount of money where i live, DENMARK ARGH!)
I think we have something like 1 skyline in denmark and its not even on plates.

Andre thanx for the link im getting everything of that site aswell, and yeah im guessing that ive been looking too much and watching those videos way too much :) (8_r32modifiedbattle)

Hmm bank manager... im sure insurance would be a killer for me, never driven in the uk, so i dont know if my 3 years of no crashes with own car matters anything in the uk?

Hey :)

The plan was to import a skyline but i really cant use it much here as the registration of it would set me back 7-10 thousand £ alone :/ and the insurance would be _alot_

So i was thinking of moving, but it just not something i can do over the weekend :) but im working on to see if it would be possible. Also trying to spot for what i could do in the uk. And where to live ofcorse :) i was thinking nottingham region or midland something?

But then again.. there wouldnt be anyone here who had a spare room to rent out would there? :D

Erm whats it like - joy! cant really think of a better way of explaining it and Id agree as soon as you even think about it...... your hooked...

And re GT3 erm I do now sometimes start playing it and think naaa and just go out in the car instead :)

Are you allowed to drive a UK registered car in Denmark, whilst being a Danish citizen ? That might solve any tax problems.

Hey all :)

thnx for all the replys :) getting me more and more hooked.

Andre, I was thinking of moving to the uk, but in "worst" case staying here and then importing it. Yeah there would be a problem, I would not be able to drive it everyday. Cause if I dont pay 60% of the value of the car to the goverment plus some other taxes, I cant get it on plates. So it would have to drive it only 6 times a year car. I would only be able to get it out for events, workshop, and "test drives" in all those cases i can borrow test plates for 1 day off the cops :) But I think having one and not being able to drive it would make me go crazy :D

Stormuk: hehe well I was "sitting" a big house 2 weeks ago for some friends who was one vacation, and they have a ps2 and surround and all that stuff, spent _alot_ of nights just getting that white r32 gtr and the speakers did get alot of "workout" when i was racing it.. but it must be a little bit boring if you have the real thing parked outside.. :)

Mattpayne: Nice :) must be nice to just sit there at work thinking that you will be driving a skyline home :)

Whats the handlind like? do you sometimes throw it on the small roads and toy around with it? :) do you get too much attention?

Never had any other car worthy of comparison. My first car with a turbo(s). Grip is awesome and the 4wheel steer makes the cornering amazing but I think that I could probably drive a permanent 4 wheel drive quicker as I would feel more confident. I still think I would suit an evo more but I do like that real wheel drive feel and I will probably change my mind after doing some track days (when the car is ready :( )
It is nothing like the playstation by the way. They have not programmed in the semi 4wd or 4 wheel steer and you can't slip the clutch:smokin:
If you think the playstation is exciting, try a ride in my car:D
If you think my car is exciting, go for a ride in Gary's car :D
He has nearly double my power:cool:
Do you have a 750bhp skyline on the PS2? Gary drives one on the road!
Still I think any turbo charged skyline feels great!

Cash!

I have to whole-heartedly agree with Andre, as my wallet is currently on valium it is that nervous of being pillaged every day!:D and i take 40+ cups of coffee & pro-plus to complete the rediculous hours i am working to pay for the mods...

I came from a FORD background and being nieve at the time thought my Escort Cossie was "unbeatable" but i have noe learned that SKYLINE's are just another monster altogether..

One comment i have heard is that the R32 is more of a "drivers car" as per the EVO article, and in that case what would 800+ bhp would be like in an R32.... hhmmmm

You're less worse off then we are in Holland. If they catch you driving a car with a foreign plate, customs are giving you a warning the first time, the second time you pay double tax (which is some 42.8%) but you still don't have it on Dutch number plates. Is that tax based on historical value or current value ?

Stu

Let me know when you've got 800 bhp please, I'd like to experience that ! Don't overwork yourself... ;)

How does the Escort Cossy realistically compare to the Skyline?

What was the spec of the Cossy? :)

I've owned a Sierra Cosworth 3-door before switching to Skyline. Had quite some fun with it, but the shell was dreadful. No stiffness at all. The Escort Cosworth still has a Sierra shell that is shortened (you can actually see where it's cut).
I prefer Skylines, much better drive alltogether.:D

Hey :)

Andre: The value is of the current veichel and what it would be sold for in denmark, but the problem is that there are no skylines in denmark. So they usually give some crazy price and then its all down to setteling with the state about how much it should cost. Some people pay more than they bought the veichle for :eek:/
I know that if i buy a honda crx in germany i can get it for £700 but will have to pay around £2500 to get it on plates in denmark. We call it the "envy" tax :eek:/

Dave: I have got to see your car one day, its looking amazing! :) Never wanted anything as bad as i do now :) been talking to my dad and he's ok with buying one, but he's worried that spare parts will cost a fortune to get to denmark.

So you think Skylines have a much more ridged chassis than Cossys then?

Would you say that they handle a lot better and are you comparing like with like (i.e. not fair if Cossy on standard suspension and Skyline on coilovers etc!).

What sort of power was your Cossy?

Im running over 300bhp in my Cossy but its been built to take 400+ so will be fitting new injectors, Greddy boost controller etc shortly and taking it closer to 400bhp.

What sort of power would a Skyline need to surpass the Cossys performance. Im assuming that the Skylines weigh a fair whack more than Cossys.

There's a Danish guy who owns an R33 (well, at least he owned it like over a year ago). I think he still owns it. He lives in England so the car is on UK plates. I think I might have his email somewhere, but I would have to dig hard to find it. Let me know in case you want it. Perhaps you can get some advise.
