Hi,

returning to skyline ownership after a 3 year break.
Looking at a Spec 2 at the weekend. The engine is at stage 1 tune with the owner claiming the output to be 330ish. However it has a standard clutch. I'm worried this may be something i need to budget for replacing. Ditto with the cars standard brakes.
am i right to be concerned?

thanks in advance

:D

brakes will be fine for road use, clutch will be at it's limit I should think.

Its the launches that kill the clutch, not so much the power.

If you aren't trying drag launches at 330 the clutch should be OK, hammer it and I'd give it about half a dozen and it will cry enough.

Stage 1 which includes sorting the fueling out by using an aftermarket ECU or stock ECU remap will give at the best of cases max 330bhp at 0.85bar on stock turbo and maxed out injectors and AFM. Stock clutch will be ok(ish), as long as you don't launch. I'm getting a new clutch good for 400bhp atf from Rising Sun Performance in the next few weeks, I thnk they're made by Exedy.
