Guys. What's the best way to go for total strip back of the wheels?
Is powder coating best? And what price am I looking at roughly per wheel?
I assume this will put the car out of action for a day or two whilst they're done.

2 days would be needed and powdercoating is alot more durable and tough than paint.

I paid £350 + vat for all 4 of mine to be done in gloss black.

Alloy wheel specialist at Nottingham did an amazing job on mine.
They completely strip back to bare metal, repair any marks and powder coat in your choice of colour. I had mine done in gloss black with the spoke face done in silver over the black. Amazing job and fast professional turn around. Price is 480 all in.
They are experienced in GTR rims aswell . PW pro, greypaul ferrari, notts porsche are just a few of there repeat customers.

Have a chat with Paul at PWpro.
He arranged to have mine done in gloss black while he was wrapping the car. Im sure they weren't as expensive as the prices quoted on here

Had mine done after kerbing 2 of them. All 4 stripped, repaired, repainted in matt black and new tyres fitted and balanced cost £80 each, Really pleased with the finish and they are holding up well. My valeter collected the car and delivered it for that too.

Try Speedwells in Tyseley Birmingham.

Always done a nice job and have a variety of colours and effects available.

Can't imagine you paying more then £300 all in.

I've had multiple sets done, over the years, never failed to impress.

Google search should find them.

I used to use bjv but stopped after the quality seemed to go downhill.

I now use first aid wheels in hampstead. They can potentially do a day turnaround. £50 per wheel for 18s. Not sure if 20s are morel. Will have a damn good go at colour matching too.

Proper acid dipped, powder coated and oven hardened. They can also correct buckling.

I be the did. Checked the flikr data recently? :chuckle:

My wheels were done by valet magic before I bought the car and whilst one wheel is lovely and gloss black, the other three have lost their glossiness a little. They might polish up, I've not tried, but it's been nearly three years since they were done so lasted well I suppose. It could be that the lovely glossy one was done again before I purchased. I'll speak to Griffith detailing when we have the north west group meet next month :bowdown1:

Yes its important that they look mint when done but its also about how the company treats the tyre on removal and reinstall as they are so easy to tear on the inside wall due to them having the inner bead.
