Still running 10w60 and working perfectly.

Still much too heavy an oil for a street driven GT-R unless you live in Dubai! The car may well still be running but without oil analysis you are only guessing, sorry to burst your bubble.

Looking at the wording in the description, it gives away what the product really is. Apparently a couple of performance specialists are buying relabelled versions of that oil.

Tim,

Just noticed your reply, is the oil better than Motul Sport 5/50?

Thanks Tim, might stick with Motul then.

When you look at the way the oil is tested, it doesn't relate to real world conditions so you had may as well taste test it to decide which is the better oil. It doesn't take into account heat, combustion byproducts, durability etc.

Yea true, it is a limited test rig. Tim do you know of any other documented tests of popular engine oils, using a rig that simulates conditions of an internal combustion engine? I would really be interested to see conclusive evidence of the differences in various popular oils.

I can't think of any published tests like that. Oil companies will do it (using various other tests) to compare their competitors products, but those results are strictly confidential. An owner of another big forum approached me recently as he wants to do an article comparing oils and after thinking about it for a bit, I still don't have a decent answer for him, other than putting the oils in a car and putting it through certain amounts of use.

Cheers

I'm running stock oil on my stage 2. Should I change it?

I'm closing a service in about 1000km so I could use an advice.

no discussion needed, just take the HKS RB 15w55 oil full synthetic ESTER blend.
what doesn't break-off under high temps like other oils.

the ester blend is important.

when i just used 10w60 full synthetic, needed to change oil after 2 a 3k km's, now i have +5k and oil still looks gold color on dipstick, while after 3k with other oil it was black allready

Hi

A 10w-50 is ideal for your car and these are the ones that we stock.

The Nanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S and CFS are both really good oils, so all are good choices for your car.

Cheers
