Happy New Year to all, and best wishes for 2013.

GTR 09 Model, both washer jets not working, although the headlight washers are working.

Some questions/points:-

1 Jets not frozen & would be odd if both blocked at same time.
2 Do windscreen & headlight washers use the same pump.
3 Does the pump, or pumps, have a separate fuse, and where is it.

Thanks for any advice given.

I believe they are separate pumps but don't have my manual at hand. I would turn off the headlights and pull the wiper stalk (engine off but aux power on) and listen for the sound of the pump. If no sound is heard, I'd be looking at the fuse next.

Windscreen Washers

Thanks to Austin & RichF-R35 for their assistance. On checking I reckon the fuse has blown, but could not remove the fuse box cover. Car going into Litchfields soon so I have asked them to deal with it.
Best regards

I heard that that the washer pump is the same as the ones they use in a Micra. But if you ask for one for the GTR then they bump up the price. If you have a decent relationship with the parts rep then he may be able to help you.

I think its a pump they use on most nissians to be honest.
End of the day, a screen wash pumps a screen wash pump.
Hopefully is just blocked

I had mine replaced at the same time as a service at Litchfields, Pump was £38.88, Labour £48.00 both plus VAT.

Hi guys, done the pump, very easy and basic job.
Near side wheel off
Front half of the inner arch off, one screw and a few clips
Then theres your to pump, window screen one is the white one closest to the engine
Disconnect the plug, and pull it out! Its that easy!
Mine was just blocked, so cleaned it up and washed it out and away it went!
Saved myself a good few quid! :)

Finally got around to this today

Took a few pics as I went, turns out after I checked the fuse the pump had only seized so after a clean out it worked fine again.

This is the way I did it;

Removed near side front wheel.
Remove two screws and thirteen clips to remove the front wheel arch liner.
Once removed undo the power connector, then the small tube at the bottom then pull out towards the arrow

You can take the pump apart at the bottom if you're careful to clean the impeller.

Looks like the pump on my 09 has packed up also, I'll have a look at the pump this afternoon and see if it can be salvaged without buying a new one.
