There is talk of a new road tax for 4x4's and vehicles that are pushing out more that 250 grames of carbon.. fair enough people gettign happy that it will only apply to 4x4's but they say vehicles so that would mean high perf cars too...

how much on average does a stage 1 skyline push out? anyone have any figures?

It would only apply to new vehicles, surely.

It will most likely apply to post-2001 cars which are already taxed on CO2 emissions.

I think it's pretty unlikely that they will be testing every single existing model of car's CO2 emissions ...

This doesn't mean that the pre-2001 VED bands for engine capacity couldn't be changed in the future.

True, but they have a wonderful knack of making all non listed cars go straight into the top bracket.

They did this when the new CO2 company car tax scheme came into effect a few years ago.
