guys im new to the skyline and wondered if XS-power parts are any good?

i see that they sell uprated manifolds cheap for the RB26.

is this a reflection on the quality or is it that the manifold on my punto was seriously expensive?

I believe that an XS-Power manifold killed my MR2 turbo twice.

I fitted the manifold and the turbo blew within ten minutes losing the exhaust wheel down into the silencer. I fitted a replacement turbo, and it blew in about 5 minutes in exactly the same way. Had the turbo rebuilt and fitted it with the std manifold back on and it has been fine for the last 6 months (touch wood!).

When inspecting the manifold after removing it, my best guess is that some little weld spatter snots not cleaned up properly came loose and hit the exhaust wheel. This is of course my opinion only, but I certainly would not fit any of their gear pre-turbo ever again.

I also contacted them a number of times and have yet to recieve a reply, so don't count on any kind of customer service!

They also used pretty soft cast flanges instead of plate. If I wanted to i could've tightened the bolts right through the bolt holes on my MR2 downpipe.

Cheap, yes, but not good, good enough for a upgrade for maybe a S13 200sx,but nothing more, for a GTR,i would prefer the standart ic over a cheap XS Product

sounds like they used paper lol, TBH i have been speaking to them and they have been replying

the manifolds are very cheap and at this price you can afford to spend some time removing any weld splatters.....just like pistons i guess they come unfinished, if i blew a turbo on one due to this i wouldnt bolt another one up only to blow it again

I have a number of products from their parent name SSautochrome in the US.

Must say the manifolds took a little time to fit, But the downpipes, intercooler and back box were a straight fit with no problems.

The products are cheaper on ebay us and to bring over than buying them in the UK who add their little bit to it. Delivery is within 24hours by Fedex.

T.F.S. - i fitted the manifold as soon as i bought the car and it blew within 10 mins. I took the head off and the bores were scored and the waterways were clogged up, so at the time i put it down the the car having overheated in the past and not having been taken care of. I fitted a replacement engine & turbo and the 2nd turbo blew within 5 mins. At this point the only thing which was present on both engines / turbos was the manifold so it came off and has been fine since.

Obviously if i'd known first time around it was the manifold i wouldn't have put the same one back on!

I guess whether you get a reply or not depends on whether you have a sales enquiry or a complaint. To be fair this was when there was no XS-Power UK so i was trying to contact XS-Power US.

I have the singleturbo manifold on my car.. no problem at all.
Bolted stragiht on, i also checked the port matching, and it was spot on. I also used a flexicam to check inside the piping, becasue i also heard rumors about bad welding, and i found nothing...

Maybe i was lucky?? :D

Asim....

I suppose if you get it knowing that you are going to have to carefully check it like above and dress it then yes they are cheap and you could get away with it. I could've done that on my MR2 manifold, but given what it seemed to have cost me already it didn't seem worth the risk!

A quick search on google does show hundreds of people having problems with their stuff.

The welding quality and fit-up will depend on the welder and the jig, so it's possible certain products will be much better than others. I needed to cut off part of one of the cam cover bolt lands to get the manifold to fit as one of the pipes hit it.

I've also seen 3S-GTE manifolds for sale elsewhere without the XS-Power badge which were definitely from the same jig / manufacturers.

If you want to save some cash, buy their downpipes. Too many (expensive)things can be comprimised when a turbo/manifold/intercooler fail....

They are a budget item, if you buy them with that in mind you'll be happy.

Their downpipes/turbo kits have a variable reputation, but I believe their intercoolers are generally OK.

bought an intercooler from them to test it out. When the box arrived,
it appeared like a 2 yr old child packaged it. When I took out the IC, it
was bent up as if was dropped from a considerable height. So i sold it
and thought I order another one. This time the intake was bent up and
less than a brand new appearance. Bad packaging in a makeshift box.
I tried to fit it and in no way did it fit. Would not fit unless I demolished
the front end and go without a bumper. Also, the IC pipes (std ones)
barely even made any connection to the IC. You should look closely at
the pics they have with the R32 and the IC. The IC pipes barely connect
and none of the supports are bolted on. Will never buy another one from
them. I am embarrassed to eventell everyone that I bought an IC from
them - twice. Better off getting name brand like HKS, Trust, NISMO, etc.
