I've got a complete head, an empty block, and an oil pan left over from my rebuild. I figure my current refreshed engine should last me at least long enough for me to bore it out to 2.8, collect and install forged internals, and work on the head - basically my idea of a dream engine. Hopefully I'll be able to build it myself as well - that would be enormously satisfying.

 well, I'm having to look at this a lot quicker than I thought -

My ideal spec would be: R32 block, R33 crank, head from either, forged pistons, uprated conrod bolts, uprated bearing shells, Tomei Poncams, stock exhaust manifold, hard pipes, stock FMIC, GT-SS turbos, and supporting mods.

Will look at the Tomei complete engine offered to me tomorrow - sounds groovy. bad luck, but then good luck:squintdan

christ, that's not confidence-inspiring, as my oil pump is an N1. How long did it last before it broke?

well I know exactly how many miles I've put on my pumps (1500) so I guess I can trust them for a bit.

One thing breaks, the whole thing goes. <sigh>
