i used nissan red liquid gasket. the thermostat is where the red arrow is!

 

How easy is this a job to do?

Reason I ask is, because i done mine whilst the plenum was off, and it was a doddle, but looking at it know, it would seem to be quite a b!tch of a job!!

 

i did mine with the engine out so i dont know.

Did mine on an RB25 and it was easy, Three bolts only and quite easy to get at with an extension bar and socket, RB26 is prolly similar, Might just have to pop the pipe off from the intercooler to the plenum.

ill let u know how bad it is to do, i was going to get nissan sealnt but they didnt have any ill just use a different kind i think.

loctite blue - thats the sealant u'll be after :thumbsup:

and i think the hose connected to that pipe would have to come off too :chuckle:

 

is it a semi hardening gasket sealant i need or a non hardening one.

i cant find loctite blue

 

Blue hylomar is the same stuff, Its semi hardening and quite good.

 

i have some carplan gastite semi hardening in the garage so i think ill use that.

what thermostat fits RB26 engine ? is it 21200-42L06 ?
