Hi,

I do a lot of motorway miles and was thinking of getting my front/bonnet and side mirrors resprayed, BUT what's the best method for protecting once resprayed? clear wrap? dip? something else? And what are the costs?

I am looking to get resprayed soon, and wrap/dip whatever to protect the very soon after

Preferably in the North of england

thanks

Clear wrap would be paint protection film (PPF) from a provider like 3M. I got my whole front end wrapped... Bonnet, side wings, 1/4 roof, side skirts, in front of the rear wheel arch, wing mirrors, front spoiler. All in all it cost around ÂŁ1800 inc VAT. I can let you know where I got it done by, it's near Gatwick.
I find it works well.
If you want a wrap though, that will be coloured, full body and probably best speaking to PWPro. Costs are similar to above but detailed on the forum if you do a quick search.

If you got he clear wrap route, be aware it will yellow over time from general road grime which it pays to keep at bay with a dedicated clear wrap cleaner. I use one called Xpel, use only on a dry car after a wash and rub it in until it draws the dirt out onto the cloth you are using (cloth should end up very dirty).

My clear bra (3m) has been on the car 6 years now and thanks to the cleaner its still in fantastic shape. I was contemplating removing it until I started using the cleaner on it as it was really heavily contaminated.

Im personally not a huge fan of the clear wraps as I dont like the look.. But have heard great things about Xpel ultimate etc etc.. New tech seems good..

I use Gtechniq Crystal serum all over the car.. Semi Ceramic coating has amazing chemical resistance and can take a lot of damage whilst protecting the original paint.. After every 2 years I just respray the front and whack on some more serum :)
