Cr turbos built my new garrett tubbie, very impressed with them and a good price too

 

I got a quote from these to rebuild my 34 turbos and it came to £575+vat and carriage per turbo

 

That sounds quite a bit mate, ouch!

 

Yes I thought so too altho they were changing the bearings too but wtf??? I bet those bearings cost bloody peanuts but as usual we get our pants pulled down and arse raped

34 turbos are BB. AFAIK you cannot replace the bearings you must replace the entire rotating assembly (CHRA I think it's called).

From what I could see you might as well just buy new ones for a few pennies more and get the warranty etc.

 

Jesus if there's not much between the 2 I'd definately buy new as well
Peace of mind then as well, u would think they would b able to just replace the bearings

 

I got quoted 70 quid stripdown, 395 for seal replacement then any additional work i.e steel wheels would be extra. So im probably going to just teplace them but most people I've spoken to so far say there are no warranties on new ball bearing units?

 

Cr turbos give warranty and they stick to it

 

Yeah I was sure cr turbos gave me a warranty with my turbo too

 

how much are -7s new with the vat ?

 

When last I looked around £700. Maybe less if you shopped around.

 

Was mentioned that If you have them rebuild they will warranty the workmanship but not on new units? Owen developments would supply me -7 600 plus vat
