Who would you go for Litchfield or stay with Nissan?

They offered me one about 2 years ago for ÂŁ3,100 I think. When I replied "you must be joking" they said "well, you can pay it monthly for ÂŁ250" to which I said "it's still ÂŁ3,100 a year, whichever way you slice it". They gave up after that.

Any of the specialists.

I enquired about this with AutoTorque and they cover everything bar entertainment systems. MFD replacement or repairs you could get cheaper from R35Audio.

One question I have and will be asking is if a part is replaced under warranty with one of the specialists on a standard GT-R, is it replaced like-for-like with an OEM part or an uprated part from aftermarket?

At the moment I have the Nissan warranty but I also bought an Akrapovic full exhaust system, I called a few places today to get a quote to fit it and they have all said I need a remap on it if I am going to have the full system on. So as soon as I heard that I called Nissan and they said it will void the warranty as soon as a map is on. So I'm kinda stuck with a ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ exhaust system. I have the extended warranty with Nissan but I'm leaning towards cancelling it with them and going somewhere else (Litchfield)

You don't need to remap it for just an catback akra system. If you're also changing the downpipes, then yes a remap is necessary. Exhaust fitting isn't a particular big job.

Most independent warranties from Litchfield, Autotorque, ACS etc cover mods too, but always ask and check the small print, some require a pre-inspection to be carried out before offering a warranty.

Alot of dealers will try and wriggle out of most claims (or make it very difficult to put in a claim), dash lights, mfd failures, bellhousing, mirror rust etc

E3BLS.
If you call Nissan or a NHPC they will say it will void warranty as they cannot guarantee it won't affect it. I has a Nissan warranty with a stage 1 Litchfield map and my dealer at Exeter sucessfully claimed for a new carbon propshart (ÂŁ2000 fitted) and new MFL display ecu (ÂŁ1500 fiited) under the Nissan care4 warranty.
I belive you will have others say they have had sucessfu claims too. All I am saying is don't be too hasty before you cancel warranty.

If you do then yes defo Litchfield warranty.

Yes, the oem backbox setup is good for 750hp, unless it was part of a stage'd upgrade with remap/exhaust/filters/injectors etc.

In most cases, a remap with no other mods (stage1) will give a healthy torque boost and a small hp upgrade for DBAs (CBA's get around ~60hp), so its a nice thing to do anyhow.
